Phytosanitary Documentation

Stone wool is an inorganic mineral product — it contains no living organisms, plant material, or organic matter. However, some countries require phytosanitary inspection certificates as a formality for any product entering agricultural use.

Vator LLC provides: commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, quality certificate, and technical data sheets with every export shipment. We can arrange phytosanitary inspection through Russian agricultural authorities when required.

Container Loading and Volume

Stone wool substrates are lightweight but bulky. Understanding container utilisation is important for cost calculation:

Container TypeVolumeApprox. SPELAND Vega Slabs (100×20×7.5cm)
20' FCL~33 m³~1,600–1,800 slabs
40' FCL~67 m³~3,400–3,800 slabs
40' HC~76 m³~4,000–4,400 slabs

Products are palletised and stretch-wrapped. Pallets are standard EUR-1 (120×80 cm). Loading height is typically 2.2 metres per pallet. Weight is far below container limits (stone wool is approximately 60–80 kg/m³ dry).

LCL (Less-than-Container) Shipping

For smaller initial orders or market testing, LCL (groupage) shipping is available from St. Petersburg to most major ports. LCL is more expensive per unit than FCL but allows orders of 2–10 pallets without the cost of a full container.

Minimum order for export: typically 1 pallet (~40–60 slabs, depending on format). LCL lead times: 3–6 weeks to most destinations.
